The FAB classification is based on central review when available (n = 439), otherwise on local institutional assessment. Hemoglobin levels, obtained in 458 patients, had a median level of 8.8 g/dL (range, 2.8-15.0 g/dL). Platelet counts were done in 468 patients, with a median count of 48 × 103/μL (range, 7-460 × 103/μL). WBC counts from 465 patients had a median value of 16.9 × 103/μL (range, 0.1-447.0 × 103/μL).

AL indicates acute leukemia; MDS, myelodysplastic syndrome; RAEBT, refractory anemia with excess blasts in transformation.
