The CCE-25-c-Kitneg ± Sca-1 were purified and plated in duplicate, in soft agar colony assays and were scored for colony formation (CFU-c) after 10 days as described in “Materials and methods.” The cultures were supplemented with the following growth factors: EPO (20 ng/mL), Flt-3 ligand (200 ng/mL), G-CSF (50 ng/mL), IL-1α (20 ng/mL), IL-6 (50 ng/mL), IL-11 (50 ng/mL), LIF (50 ng/mL), M-CSF (300 ng/mL), GM-CSF (20 ng/mL), IL-3 (30 ng/mL), SCF (100 ng/mL), SDF-1α (100 ng/mL), and Tpo (20 ng/mL).
