The LCR Aγ transgenics assayed were either founders or F1 animals.
N. telomeric indicates near telomeric integration; N. centromeric, near centromeric integration; and —, not determined.
For founders, an estimate of copy number was made by using probes that specifically detect the end fragments of transgenes and determining the ratio of joining versus end fragments that are detected in multicopy head-to-tail arrays. The lack of detection of joining fragments suggested a single transgene copy. Copy numbers for transgenic lines were determined as described in “Materials and methods.”

Chromosomal rearrangements were observed in this mouse. Transgene integration has occurred in a translocated chromosome. No single copy line could be generated from the multicopy line.
