Thymocytes from FTOCs shown in Figure 2A were stained for CD4, CD8, and CD44, and the frequency of CD8+ cells showing high levels of CD44 expression was estimated. Total cell numbers represent the mean ± SD of at least 3 thymi per group for each time point.
