HMECs were plated on growth factor—depleted Matrigel and stimulated with VEGF (10 ng/mL) or bFGF (50 ng/mL) in the presence or absence of AH6809 (10 μM). Twenty hours after stimulation, the number of junctions was quantified in at least 5 different fields under each treatment. AH6809 inhibits tubular formation induced by bFGF (32%), VEGF (29%). P < .05 as compared with each growth factor without AH6809.
