Effect of adiponectin on tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) secretion of macrophages stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS)

Human macrophages were preincubated in serum-free medium containing 10 μg/mL adiponectin, HSA, or medium alone for 24 hours and subsequently stimulated with LPS (10 μg/mL) for 8 hours. Supernatants were harvested and their levels of TNF-α assayed. Plus-minus values are the mean ± SD results from triplicate cultures.
