A graft composed of 10% to 20% of the number of cryopreserved mononuclear marrow cells (MNC) expected to provide timely hematopoietic reconstitution16 17 was infused.
Grafts expanded for 10 days in PMVEC coculture from 8.1 and 8.4 × 106 CD34+ cells/kg.
Transfusion independence was defined as the date after which no transfusions were required to maintain a platelet count of at least 20,000/μL.
A total of 175 to 280 mL irradiated whole blood transfusions was administered when platelet counts fell below 20,000/μL.
