Two thousand CD34+ cells were initiated in all cultures. Mks were calculated based on the proportion of IIbIIIa positive cells on cytocentrifuge preparations and the total cell numbers generated by each combination. Results are represented by mean ± SD from three separate experiments. % indicates the percentage of MKs in the total cells generated at each time point and are expressed as the mean percentage from the three experiments.

The number of MKs is significantly different from that of their counterparts without sIL-6R (P < .05 to .0001).
