AECC diagnostic criteria for ALI and ARDS
Bilateral infiltrates (seen on frontal chest radiograph)
PaO2/FiO2 ≤ 300 mm Hg
PAOP (PCWP) ≤ 18 mm Hg, or absence of clinical evidence of left atrial hypertension (LAH)
PaO2/FiO2 ≤ 200 mm Hg
PAOP indicates pulmonary artery occlusion pressure; and PCWP, pulmonary capillary wedge pressure.
