OSM antigen was determined with a specific ELISA as described in “Quantification of OSM” in MDMs incubated for 24 hours with or without α-thrombin (1 U/mL). Values are given in nanograms per milliliter and represent mean values ± SD of 3 independent determinations.
PAR-1 mRNA levels, normalized according to the respective GAPDH mRNA levels, were determined as described in “Real-time PCR” in cells without addition of α-thrombin. Values are given as x-fold of mRNA levels of donor 1 that showed the lowest PAR-1 expression and thus was arbitrarily set to 100%.
