Total number of hematopoietic colonies generated from 2000 initial CJ7 cells. EBs were dissociated and cells were cultured in secondary semisolid cultures with 7GFs 12 days after initiation of hematopoietic differentiation in the presence of the 7GFs cocktail. Hematopoietic colonies were scored 7 days later (day 12 + 7). Megakaryocytes were counted after immunofluorescence staining of cytospin preparations from CFU-MK colonies with the rat anti-murine platelet monoclonal antibody 4A5.
