Genes were tentatively grouped in clusters based on documented functional properties of the gene products. Cluster 1 includes anti-inflammation, wound healing, and angiogenesis; cluster 2, cell-cycle regulation; cluster 3, lectins; and cluster 4, miscellaneous. Gene expression levels were determined by reverse transcription followed by real-time quantitative PCR and were normalized with the housekeeping gene ribosomal protein S12. The first and second sequences of each primer pair represent sense and antisense, respectively, except for arginase-1, CAT2B, and Lrg1, where the first primer is antisense, and the second is sense.
